CEZ, the Czech Republic's leading power company, reported a net profit of 23.4 billion Czech crowns ($984 million) in the first three quarters of 2024, marking a 27.3% decline compared to the same period last year.
The decrease is attributed to lower earnings in trading and mining sectors. CEZ is also preparing to build two new nuclear reactors and has signed an agreement with Britain's Rolls-Royce SMR to develop and build small modular nuclear reactors.
This partnership reflects the UK's export potential in advanced nuclear technologies and may lead to further collaborative projects in the energy sector, fostering economic ties between the UK and the Czech Republic.
