What Will Czech Exporters Showcase at Expo?

The gates of World Expo 2025 will open in Osaka, Japan, this April for a six-month run.

More than a hundred Czech companies are involved in the country's participation in various ways. They will present unique innovations to the global public, such as a cutting-edge water purification system, a special line of cocktail glasses, and a tabletop battle game inspired by Asian puppet theater.

The planet’s biggest exhibition event is approaching. On April 13, World Expo 2025 will begin on the artificial island of Yumeshima on the outskirts of Osaka. This Japanese metropolis is hosting the showcase of human achievements for the second time. During the previous World Expo in 1970, the Czechoslovak pavilion was one of the most successful. This year, the Czech delegation aims to build on that legacy, settling into the newly completed national pavilion, designed as a crystalline spiral made primarily of glass and wood.

Alongside an extensive cultural program featuring over 210 artists, the Czech delegation will also highlight numerous companies and their products. Business conferences and direct negotiations with potential trade partners will also take place in the pavilion.

Exporters hope their participation will lead to new contracts, particularly in the Far East and Japan itself. A unique aspect of this year’s Expo—unlike the previous one in Dubai—is that due to Japan’s geographical remoteness, a large share of the expected 30 million visitors will be locals. Japanese visitors could make up as much as 80% of the audience.

The Czech delegation includes a diverse range of businesses, from IT firms to industrial manufacturers. Some companies won’t be presenting their products directly in the exhibition but will travel to Japan for business meetings and networking events.<br/> For example, the Purposia group aims to introduce Japan to its 3D concrete printing technology. This remarkable innovation is currently being used to construct its first building—a church in Neratovice, where even the tower will be created by a 3D printer…
