Karel Jonák and Martina Homolová are behind the Náš kmín brand. They are the founders and owners of the Petráveč Oil Mill. For several years, they have been active members of the Český kmín interest group, which was established to support caraway growers. The association brings together caraway growers, processors, and traders. Since 1996, the association has been concerned with the quality and different varieties of Czech caraway, providing advice and monitoring the market situation.

The future of Czech caraway cultivation could be saved by higher domestic sales at a fair price and broader demand in the Czech Republic. The only major domestic buyers of Czech caraway seeds so far are Orkla Foods – the Vitana spice brand, Slovak Maspoma, Podravka – Lagris, and Ekvia

Fragrant caraway has given Czech cuisine its typical flavor for centuries, and has also been used since ancient times to treat various health problems and in cosmetics. This aromatic plant is simply part of our country's culinary and herbal heritage, so it is no wonder that up to 2,400 tons of caraway are consumed in the Czech Republic every year.
