A record 6.13 milion hectoliters of Czech beer went on export.
Czech breweries exported a record 6.13 million hectoliters of beer abroad last year. The largest export markets are Slovakia, Germany and Poland. Imports of Czech beer have also increased significantly in Hungary, with 2,421,656 liters more Czech beer arriving in the country in 2024 compared to the previous year.
According to the sales director of Liquid Gold, Dániel Fáczán retail is seeing an increase in the volume of reduced-alcohol or completely alcohol-free products. This is an international trend, but buyers are trying to think ahead and more and more of these types of products are appearing on store shelves.
According to the reports, the super premium segment is growing, although it is a big question which products each manufacturer will classify or reclassify here, says Mr. Fáczán.
"Czech beer has a very good reputation in the world and is often sought after," commented Tomáš Maier, an economist from the Faculty of Business Economics at the Czech University of Life Sciences, on last year's export campaign by breweries.
Tomáš Slunečko, executive director of the Czech Association of Breweries and Malteries, pointed out that the popularity of beer is generally increasing in some countries that traditionally do not enjoy it much. "For example, in Spain, Portugal or France. Local beer fans, of course, in addition to local products, also want to taste quality beer from other countries, including Czech lager," he noted.
The national company Budweiser Budvar exports over 70 percent of its total production abroad. Exports increased by four percent last year, with beer being shipped to more than 70 countries around the world.
