Mission objective: Connecting the Czech and Hungarian energy sectors
On 7–8 October 2025, a Czech business mission named Heat & Energy 2025 took place in Hungary, organized by the CzechTrade foreign office in Hungary. The professional partners of the event were the Hungarian District Heating Association (MATÁZSZSZ) and the Hungarian Association for Combined Heat and Power Production (MKET).
The two-day mission aimed to strengthen business ties between Czech and Hungarian companies and to showcase Czech technologies and solutions in the field of modern, sustainable, and digitalized energy.
In recent years, the Hungarian energy sector has been undergoing a dynamic transformation — from the modernization of district heating systems and decentralized energy production to the development of renewable sources and smart energy solutions.
Professional program and networking
The first day of the mission took place at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Budapest. After the opening remarks, presentations followed by Dávid Kecskeméti from the Hungarian District Heating Association (MATÁZSZSZ), the Adam Čermák representing the Czech Modern Energy Association, and Roland Deme on behalf of the the Hungarian Association for Combined Heat and Power Production (MKET).
Czech companies then introduced their solutions in the fields of cogeneration, energy network management, professional consulting, heat accumulation, and industrial heat pump systems.
A broad spectrum of expertise in modern energy:
The company presentations were followed by B2B meetings. Participants had the opportunity to meet with leading Hungarian energy companies, including MVM, MVM ERBE, MOL, Alteo, as well as representatives of several regional district heating plants. These meetings provided valuable insights into current trends in the Hungarian energy market and upcoming investment projects in district heating and renewable energy.
The program also featured expert contributions from Powerie Kft., HargLaw, and Peterka & Partners, who offered perspectives on the Hungarian market, public procurement, and construction contract regulations.
Excursion to Győr
The second day of the mission included a visit to the Győr-Szol district heating plant, which supplies the city with heat from a geothermal well. Participants had the opportunity to learn about the practical operation of this sustainable energy system.
Significance of the mission for Czech exporters
The Heat & Energy 2025 business mission created a valuable platform for establishing new business partnerships, sharing expertise, and supporting Czech exporters in their efforts to enter and strengthen their presence in the Hungarian market.
