Retail sales grew by 5.5 percent year-on-year, with the most significant increase in e-shops and mail-order stores. Month-on-month, sales rose by 0.6 percent, the Czech Statistical Office said.

According to Deloitte economist Filip Pastucha, due to high inflation for two years and a sharp drop in real wages, retail sales are still roughly at the same level they reached in 2019.
