The Czech economy grew by 2.5 percent last year, according to preliminary estimates, the Czech Statistical Office (ČSÚ) announced. This is almost double the growth in 2024, when gross domestic product (GDP) growth was 1.3 percent. Last year's growth was also the highest since 2022.
The growth of gross added value was supported most by the trade, transport, accommodation and hospitality industry group.
According to the Czech Statistical Office, in the last quarter of last year, growth was mainly contributed by household final consumption expenditure and foreign demand. Gross capital formation had a negative impact. The growth of added value was supported most by the trade, transport, accommodation and hospitality industry group and industry. The construction industry continued to prosper.
