AI as a growing sector in the Czech industry

Artificial intelligence plays a key role in the development of the economy and society in the Czech Republic. As is the case around the world, AI is transforming domestic businesses, increasing the efficiency of public administration, pushing the boundaries of research and improving the quality of life. Thus, it is becoming a driver for digital transformation and innovation, mirroring global trends and the need to keep pace with technological changes.The Czech AI community is highly professional, and the country can be proud of severalprominent figures and experts who attract the attention of global companies and are highly soughtafter authorities in the world of modern technologies. Artificial intelligence in the Czech Republic is developing dynamically and is used in a wide range of fields. With government support and growing private sector investment, the Czech Republic is becoming a major player in AI at the European level.

  This rapid development is supported by strong collaboration among academia, business, government and non-profit organisations. Czech research institutions are leaders in the fields of machine learning, computer vision, robotics, and language and speech technologies. Other areas such as optimisation, game planning and theory, and generative technology have also made significant progress. The main centres of AI research and development in the Czech Republic are involved in a number of cross-border projects (e.g. the European Joint Undertaking for High Performance Computing EuroHPC JU), as well as renowned Czech AI companies that operate in foreign markets, enjoying international recognition and attracting the attention of foreign investors. According to data from the Czech Statistical Office, more than 11% of Czech companies use one of the AI technologies, which is almost a 100% increase compared to 2023. AI is most often used by large enterprises, and the share of these companies using this technology rose above 40% for the first time in 2024. The most commonly implemented technologies include generative AI, natural language processing and image analysis.
