After 15 long years, Czech Republic officially reopens its Consulate General in Mumbai on December 9th 2025, strengthening the ties between India and Czechia, promoting trade, investment, and tourism which promises significant growth in the coming years.
On Tuesday, 9th of December 2025, in the magnificent St.Regis Hotel in central Mumbai, Czech Republic held an event where the reopening of the Consulate General was announced.
Barbara Andelová, head manager responsible for new markets in India and Middle East countries at CzechTourism agengy, together with Consul General Kateřina Vovková and representatives from the Consulate General held a press conference about new challanges in tourism, trade and future cooperation in general.
This event marks an effort to bring the key stakeholders from both countries closer together as Mumbai is the key financial hub of India.
Czech Consulate can support cooperation in various fields ranging from facilitating B2B introductions, promoting Czechia in India through tourism campaigns, visa facilitation for business travellers and tour groups, supporting trade missions, roadshows, investment meetings, providing connections to CzechTrade, CzechTourism, CzechInvest.
Czechia—especially Prague, Karlovy Vary, Brno, and Český Krumlov—is highly attractive to Indian travellers for European heritage & architecture, affordable luxury, safety and easy connectivity within Europe.
