Safran Cabin CZ has expanded with a new high-tech facility in Rokycany, CZ to boost aircraft interior production and meet growing demand. The site emphasizes advanced manufacturing, sustainability, and aims to employ up to 250 people.
Safran Cabin CZ officially opened its new Rokycany facility in mid-November 2024, although operations commenced back in June. This cutting-edge plant covers 8,000 m² and expands Safran’s Czech footprint from 18,000 to 26,000 m². It focuses on producing crew rest modules for cargo aircraft, lavatories, and staircases for the Airbus A330, along with next-generation galleys for the Boeing 777—responding to Airbus A320 demand and space constraints at the historic Plzeň site.
Strategically located just a 20-minute drive from Plzeň and near the Prague highway, Rokycany was chosen to streamline logistics and tap into a broader workforce. The site plans to hire up to 250 employees once fully operational. Initially, around 80 experienced staff were transferred from the Plzeň plant, and to facilitate commuting, Safran partnered with local public transport providers and the regional employment agency to support recruitment efforts.
The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art production technologies, including advanced lighting and climate systems tailored for adhesive processes. It also emphasizes sustainability: the building earned a BREEAM “Very Good” rating, and plans are underway to install 1,400 m² of rooftop solar panels. These steps aim to ensure high-quality manufacturing, operational efficiency, and environmental responsibility.
