Czech Innovations Highlighted at BioJapan 2024

In collaboration with the CzechTrade, four Czech companies participated in the world’s oldest biotechnology exhibition, BioJapan 2024.

BioJapan, which dates back to 1984, is one of the most significant events in the field, bringing together biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies from around the world. The main exhibition, held last week from October 9 to 11 in Yokohama, was complemented by two accompanying events: Regenerative Medicine Japan and HealthTech Japan, focusing on regenerative medicine and digital healthcare. Experts also had the opportunity to attend one of 200 specialized seminars, and the event included a traditional B2B partnering program.

The Czech companies Bionava, GCP-Service International, IOCB Tech, and IQS nano had a successful exhibition, with the Czech pavilion being one of the most visited. IQS nano's unique 3D nanoprinter, which has various applications in biomedicine, was a particular highlight. The strong reputation of Czech innovation in Japan further boosted their visibility and engagement at the event.

However, the attention of the biotech community was not focused only on Yokohama that week. Prior to the BioJapan exhibition, the Biotech Business Mission took place on October 7, 2024, in Osaka. This event is part of a broader initiative aimed at fostering collaboration between European and Japanese companies in the fields of biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. The event featured business meetings to help companies find partners in areas such as drug discovery, regenerative medicine, and digital therapeutics. It also provided participants with networking opportunities and insights into the latest industry trends.

From the Czech Republic, TELIGHT Brno, a manufacturer of holographic microscopes, participated in the event. The Czech company greatly appreciated the opportunity to establish connections with local companies, as Osaka and the surrounding Kansai region are traditionally a hub for Japan's pharmaceutical industry.
