SENZOMATIC Sensors Help Preserve Czech National Pavilion at EXPO 2025

Special moisture-monitoring sensors from SENZOMATIC are being installed in the Czech National Pavilion at EXPO 2025 in Osaka. They will provide crucial data to prevent damage and extend the building’s lifespan.

SENZOMATIC system was developed by scientists from the Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU) and is already protecting over 1,000 buildings worldwide, including homes, hotels, and industrial sites. By integrating these sensors, the Czech Pavilion aims to ensure the long-term durability of its cross-laminated timber (CLT) construction while demonstrating the importance of sustainable building management.

SENZOMATIC’s system is unique in its ability to combine both wired and wireless sensor connections, allowing flexible placement and highly efficient monitoring. According to Jan Včelák, co-founder and head of research and development, continuous data collection and advanced analytics help detect potential issues early, ensuring optimal conditions for wooden structures. Excess moisture can lead to mold and decay, often going unnoticed until costly repairs are needed. By implementing real-time monitoring, the pavilion's organizers can take preventive action, minimizing risks and preserving the structural integrity of the building throughout the world exhibition and beyond.

The integration of this technology highlights the Czech Republic’s expertise in sustainable construction and smart building management. At EXPO 2025, SENZOMATIC will not only showcase its innovative approach but also contribute to the global dialogue on modern timber architecture. The exhibition provides an opportunity for international collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the promotion of eco-friendly construction practices. By demonstrating the effectiveness of moisture monitoring, SENZOMATIC aims to expand the use of its technology worldwide, reinforcing the importance of sustainable solutions in the construction industry.
