CzechTrade Baltics supports Czech participation at Latitude59 in Tallinn

CzechTrade Baltics office, in cooperation with CzechInvest and Embassy of the Czech Republic in Tallinn, participated in supporting Czech involvement at the international startup conference Latitude59, held in Tallinn, Estonia. The event is one of the key startup and investor gatherings in the Baltic region and has long connected startups, investors, technology companies, and representatives of the public and academic sectors.

This year’s festival attracted more than 3,500 participants from 70 countries. The program also featured presentations from approximately 350 startups, with SaaS, deep tech, hardware, and clean tech being the most represented sectors. There was also a notable increase in projects focused on defence technologies and healthcare innovation.

Czech participation and involvement of partners

Czech participation at Latitude59 consisted of a combination of startups, investors, and institutions supporting the innovation ecosystem.

Among the startups was Naberius with its IRIS solution, which enables the creation of photorealistic and geographically accurate virtual environments in the form of digital twins. Another participant was Revolgy Business Solutions presenting its Remanguys solution, focused on remote tactical and operational drone control and simulation environments for development purposes; another startup – Quantum for Simulations – presented the use of quantum computing for material optimization in industry, particularly in aerospace, space technologies, and automotive sectors.

The investor segment was represented by Seed Starter České spořitelna, Presto Ventures, and Tech Horizons, all of which focus on supporting technology startups in early and growth stages. The Czech innovation ecosystem was further represented by CzechInvest through its Technology Incubation programme, which supports approximately 270 technology companies across fields such as AI, mobility, space technologies, and the creative industries.

Estonia as a European leader in the digital economy

Estonia is considered one of the most advanced digital economies in Europe. A key factor is its fully digital public administration, enabling company formation and management entirely online through the e-Residency system.

Key advantages of the Estonian environment include:

  • fully digital company incorporation and administration,
  • digital identity enabling remote business operations within the EU,
  • an open regulatory framework supporting rapid market entry,
  • strong connectivity between the startup ecosystem, investors, and incubators.

The result is an environment optimized primarily for rapid international scaling of companies.

Czech and Estonian innovation models

Czech participation at Latitude59 confirms the complementarity of both ecosystems. The Czech Republic has a strong base of founders and technical teams capable of building products in early stages. Estonia, on the other hand, represents a growth-oriented environment that, thanks to digitalization and market openness, enables rapid global scaling.

The combination of Czech startup creation capacity and Estonian scaling capability forms a natural basis for cross-border cooperation in the region.

The cooperation between CzechInvest, Embassy of the Czech Republic in Tallinn and CzechTrade Baltics confirms the growing importance of a coordinated approach in the Baltics, where individual markets function as an interconnected innovation space with high mobility of capital, talent, and know-how. CzechTrade Baltics will continue to support activities connecting Czech companies with the regional innovation segment and facilitating their entry into new markets.
