Destination Czechia Presents Czech Regions and Tourism Opportunities in Riga

Czech regions, tourism services and gastronomy showcase their offer to the Latvian market. The Destination Czechia conference and B2B meetings took place in Riga. Preceded by an extensive media campaign, the event brought together Czech regions, hoteliers and tourism service providers with Latvian tour operators and distributors, opening the door to new business cooperation.

On 1 October 2026, the Destination Czechia conference and B2B meetings took place at the Grand Palace Hotel in Riga, marking the culmination of the PROPED economic diplomacy project aimed at strengthening the promotion of Czechia as an attractive tourist destination on the Latvian market.

The project was preceded by an extensive media campaign in August and September entitled Feel Free – Ļaujies Čehijai, which showcased the diversity of Czechia’s tourism offer to the Latvian public through online and print media, cinema advertising and airBaltic communication channels.

The Destination Czechia event was opened by Martin Vítek, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Latvia. The Czech tourism offer was then presented by representatives of CzechTourism, Czech and Moravian regions and destination management organisations, hotels, incoming travel agencies and other providers of tourism products and experiences.

The presentation programme was followed by individual B2B meetings, bringing together Czech participants and Latvian travel agencies, tour operators, distributors and other tourism professionals. The event provided a platform for establishing new business contacts and discussing opportunities to include Czech destinations and tourism products in offers for Latvian clients.

The programme concluded with a networking reception featuring Czech and Moravian cuisine, Moravian wines, Czech beer and traditional fruit spirits.

The project was organised by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Riga in cooperation with CzechTourism and CzechBusiness (Baltic States Office), with the support of the Ministry for Regional Development of the Czech Republic. Major project partners also included airBaltic and Czech Inn Hotels / Grand Palace Hotel.

Destination Czechia confirmed the growing interest in developing tourism cooperation between Czechia and Latvia and created concrete opportunities for further collaboration between Czech and Latvian partners in the tourism sector.
