“Škoda 130 Years” is a unique opportunity to explore the brand’s rich heritage and experience how the automobile has evolved over time — from 19th-century bicycles to today’s sporty and electric vehicles. The exhibition will be open at Riga Motor Museum, 8 S. Eizenšteina Street, Riga, starting September 12.
Riga Motor Museum hosts a special exhibition, “Škoda 130 Years”, dedicated to one of the world’s oldest car brands. The exhibition takes visitors through the very beginnings of Škoda’s history — from the production of bicycles and motorcycles — all the way to the present day. Throughout its history, Škoda has successfully built vehicles that met market demand and has actively contributed to the development of motorsport technologies, reaching the highest achievements on the world rally stage.
The exhibition will feature unique historical exhibits and models that have become icons of their era: the L&K “Slavia” bicycle (1900), the “Octavia Combi” (1963), the sporty coupé “110 R” (1977), the popular “120” (1988), the unusual “Felicia Fun” (2000), the special “Enyaq” electric car (2021) built for the Ice Hockey World Championship, and the latest rally car “Fabia RS Rally2.” In mid-October, the exhibition will be updated with other significant models — the “L&K 110” (1926), “Škoda 645” (1930), the legendary rally car “130 RS” (1976), “Rapid” (1988), and the Tour de France director’s car “Superb” (2004).
The Škoda car brand enjoys great popularity in Latvia. In the first half of 2024, 2,868 new Škoda cars were registered in Latvia, making it the second most popular new car brand in the country for that period, after Toyota. In 2023, 2,350 new Škoda cars were sold, placing it third in new sales behind Toyota and Volkswagen. The Škoda Kodiaq and Škoda Octavia were among the most popular models in Latvia in the first half of 2024.
