Challenges facing the automobile industry nowadays

Today's automotive industry is evolving rapidly, particularly in the area of electric and autonomous vehicles. Automotive companies face challenges such as new emissions standards, component supply issues and pressure to move towards sustainable technologies. In the Czech Republic, for example, liability for accidents involving autonomous vehicles is being debated, raising ethical and legal questions.

In the context of globalisation and advances in manufacturing, Czech carmakers are struggling to secure a stable supply of materials and components. Another major change is the growing production of electric cars, with the country facing challenges in the form of shortages of raw materials such as lithium, which are affecting the entire industry.

Škoda Auto, for example, faces challenges not only in electrification, but also in the production of cables and other parts for electric cars, which are manufactured in several countries, including Morocco and Ukraine. This trend highlights the wider phenomenon of global supply chains in the automotive industry, which are now essential to support production.
