Czech Group Greenbuddies Doubles Profit and plans Expansion This Year

Greenbuddies specializes in services related to industrial photovoltaic power plants and e-mobility infrastructure.

The Czech energy group Greenbuddies, specializing in industrial photovoltaic power plants and e-mobility infrastructure, more than doubled its pre-tax profit to 100 million CZK last year. Revenue increased by 94% to 778.4 million CZK. In 2023, the group achieved a milestone of one gigawatt-peak of installed capacity, driven by increasing demand for sustainable energy sources across the EU. Significant contracts, such as a deal with Langa International for new solar power plants in the Czech Republic by 2028, have bolstered their growth.

'In 2023, we achieved the significant milestone of one gigawatt-peak of total installed capacity. This milestone represents two and a half million installed solar modules and, more importantly, seven years of hard work," said co-owner and founder Aleš Spáčil. According to him, the group's key markets are in Germany and the Netherlands, operating in seventeen EU countries. "We have significantly focused on the Czech market in the past two years, utilizing our international experience," he stated. He noted that increased demand for sustainable energy sources across all EU markets, where the photovoltaic power plant market grew by over forty percent year-on-year, helped boost revenues. One of the most significant contracts was with the international company Langa International, which plans to build new solar power plants in the Czech Republic by 2028 for approximately 2.4 billion CZK.

The company was founded in 2017 by current co-owners Ondřej Vodsloň and Aleš Spáčil. Besides the Czech Republic, the group operates primarily in Germany, the Netherlands, and fourteen other EU countries.
