Three airlines launch new direct flights from Bucharest to Prague

From October 2025, Bucharest will be better connected with Prague as three airlines — Smartwings, Animawings, and Wizz Air — are set to launch new direct flights between the two capitals.

Starting October 26, 2025, Smartwings will operate daily direct flights as part of the winter flight schedule 2025/2026. Animawings, which has so far focused mainly on the Romanian and Balkan markets, will enter the Czech market with the Bucharest–Prague route, offering three weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, starting on October 5. Wizz Air will complement the offer with four weekly connections — on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays — also starting from the winter schedule on October 26. With these new routes, Henri Coandă Airport in Bucharest will become an even stronger regional hub, offering Romanian travelers and businesses convenient access to Central Europe through Prague — a key transport and economic center.

The direct connection with Prague opens new possibilities for Romanian companies seeking to expand into Central European markets. Direct flights with varied frequency and pricing will make it easier to plan business trips, attend trade fairs, and arrange in-person meetings. The increased connectivity is also expected to boost incoming tourism from Romania to the Czech Republic and vice versa. Enhanced air links between Bucharest and Prague will allow Romanian business to access new networks, respond quickly to market opportunities, establish partnerships, and strenghten their presence in one of Central Europe’s most dynamic business and commercial centres.
