Kolín, Czech Republic – Toyota Motor Corporation will launch its first European electric vehicle (EV) production at its Kolín plant in the Czech Republic by 2028. The facility, currently producing the Aygo X and Yaris, will be uprgraded to build around 100,000 EVs annually.
The move supports Toyota´s plan to expand its European EV lineup and aligns with the EU´s 2035 ban on new combustion-engine cars. Localized production is expected to streamline logistics and reduce costs, helping Toyota compete with fast-growing Chinese EV brands in the region.
