An independent craft brewery in Kněžičky, built on sustainable practices, in-house malt production, and a focus on exceptionally fresh beer.
Pivovar Záhora is a small, family-run craft brewery located in the village of Kněžičky, founded by two brothers rooted in local rural traditions. The brewery grows its own malted barley on-site and sources hops from nearby growers, while drawing water from its own Polabí well—ensuring full control over every brewing ingredient. All beer is left unfiltered and unpasteurized to preserve maximum flavor and freshness, with weekly direct keg and bottle deliveries to maintain optimal quality. Its portfolio features reinterpretations of classic Czech lagers infused with global hop varieties, alongside experimental offerings—including sour ales, IPAs, stouts, and fruit-forward styles—available in bottles, cans, and kegs. Operating with an informal structure and creative freedom, the brewery emphasizes authenticity, individuality, and an ever-evolving brewing philosophy. Pivovar Záhora has also earned recognition at industry competitions, including awards for styles like Vienna lager and NEIPA, underscoring its commitment to flavor and innovation.
