A modern Moravian winery focused on terroir-driven single-varietal wines, combining traditional winemaking with a strong regional identity linked to mining heritage.
Vinařství sv. Barbora is a Czech winery located in South Moravia, building on the long tradition of viticulture in the region and connecting it with the local mining heritage. The brand was introduced in 2017 and has since focused on producing clean, single-varietal wines with a clearly defined character. The winery cultivates approximately 11 hectares of its own vineyards and places strong emphasis on the terroir of the Hrubé pole vineyard site, where specific soil and climatic conditions significantly influence the style of the wines.
Its production includes a wide range of white, rosé, and red wines made from typical Moravian and international grape varieties such as Riesling, Pálava, Grüner Veltliner, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir. In addition to still wines, the portfolio includes various quality tiers, including selection and reserve wines. The winery is characterized by its focus on purity, balance, and varietal expression, using modern winemaking technology primarily as a tool to preserve the natural character of the wine.
A significant part of its business is direct-to-consumer sales through its e-shop, as well as distribution to business partners and the gastronomy sector. The brand identity is strongly associated with the figure of Saint Barbara, the patron saint of miners, symbolically linking vineyard work with the historical and industrial heritage of the region.
