Czech Business Mission Introduces Companies to the Swedish Market for Sustainable Packaging

Four Czech companies, in cooperation with the CzechTrade Scandinavia agency and the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Stockholm, participated in a business mission focused on sustainable packaging and presented their solutions at EMPACK Stockholm 2025.

From September 30 to October 2, 2025, a business mission of Czech companies took place in Stockholm, focusing on sustainable packaging and innovative logistics technologies. The mission, which included the companies MYCO s.r.o., Stabilplastik, spol. s r.o., ALFA PLASTIK, a.s., and CirkArena (MMV s.r.o.), was organized by the CzechTrade Scandinavia foreign office in cooperation with the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Stockholm. The mission was co-financed by the PROPED program of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic.

The program began with a one-day expert seminar that introduced companies to the business environment and legislative framework of the Swedish market, including the forthcoming European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), which is expected to significantly affect the entire packaging industry. The seminar also covered the principles of the circular economy, the use of recycled and sustainable materials, expectations of Scandinavian buyers, and specific entry conditions to the Swedish market — from company formation to institutional support for foreign investors.

On October 1–2, 2025, the companies participated in the EMPACK Stockholm 2025, held at Kistamässan. EMPACK is a key platform for showcasing packaging and logistics technologies, offering a wide range of innovations in materials, automation, recycling, and efficient packaging. A vital part of the event was the expert seminar program, with a strong focus on the upcoming EU regulation on packaging and packaging waste.

Czech companies presented sustainable and technologically advanced solutions that respond to current challenges and anticipate future directions of the packaging industry. Stabilplastik, spol. s r.o. showcased eco-friendly pallets made from 100% recycled plastic, produced with zero waste. CirkArena (MMV s.r.o.), a research organization, presented its activities in the development of new packaging solutions and the application of circular economy principles. Alfa Plastik, a.s. introduced its range of sustainable plastic packaging designed mainly for the bakery, meat, and beverage industries. MYCO s.r.o. attracted attention with mycelium-based alternatives to single-use plastics, combining functionality with full biodegradability.

This mission represents the first step in a long-term strategy to support the Czech packaging industry in Scandinavia. For the participating companies, it was a valuable experience that may lead to new export opportunities and deeper cooperation with partners in Sweden.
