Czech Business Mission to Norway: Czech Wine Day Oslo 2026

On 9 June 2026, CzechTrade Scandinavia, CzechTourism Scandinavia & Finland, and the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Oslo jointly organized Czech Wine Day Oslo 2026, a business mission dedicated to promoting Czech and Moravian wines in Norway. The event connected Czech wineries with Norwegian importers, distributors, media representatives, and wine professionals, strengthening awareness of Czech wine and creating opportunities for future business cooperation.

Held at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Oslo, Czech Wine Day Oslo 2026 aimed to introduce Czech and Moravian wineries to the Norwegian market and support their expansion into one of Europe’s most regulated wine-import environments. As Norway imports virtually all wine sold in the country, Czech and Moravian producers have significant potential to enter the market with high-quality wines distinguished by their unique origin, authenticity, and growing international reputation.

Seven wineries from South Moravia participated, three in person and four represented by the National Wine Centre. The programme opened with remarks by H.E. David Červenka, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Norway, who highlighted the importance of economic cooperation and cultural exchange between the two countries.

Participants were also introduced to the Czech wine sector by Dagmar Fialová from the National Wine Centre. A guided tasting led by renowned Norwegian sommelier Karl Inggard Sæther showcased seven selected dry white wines and highlighted the diversity, quality, and heritage of Czech and Moravian winemaking.

The event attracted around 20 guests, including wine importers, distributors, representatives of Vinmonopolet, tourism stakeholders, journalists, and industry experts. Beyond presenting their wines, participating wineries had a valuable opportunity to establish direct contacts with key Norwegian industry professionals, discuss market opportunities, and explore potential partnerships.

During the networking session, attendees sampled approximately 30 wines and exchanged insights on future cooperation.

The mission successfully enhanced the visibility of Czech wines in Norway, demonstrated their potential for the Norwegian market, and laid the foundation for new business relationships while also promoting the Czech Republic as an attractive destination for wine tourism.
