Czech Automotive Industry Records Strong Start to 2026

The Czech automotive industry increased production in early 2026, confirming its strong export position and growing role of electrified vehicles.

The Czech automotive industry began 2026 with solid growth. In the first quarter, more than 403,000 vehicles were produced, representing an 8.3% year-on-year increase. The Czech automotive industry continues to confirm its role as a key pillar of the national economy. Passenger cars remain the dominant segment, while the share of electrified vehicles is steadily increasing. Electric, plug-in hybrid, and hybrid models together account for a significant portion of total production, reflecting ongoing changes in demand and technology. Exports continue to play a decisive role, with over 93% of vehicles delivered to foreign markets. The Czech automotive industry is therefore closely linked to developments in international trade. Despite challenges such as higher costs and global uncertainty, the sector remains stable.
