Czech economy slows in Q2 2026 as domestic demand supports growth

Czech Q2 growth slowed, driven by households, weaker abroad.

The Czech economy slowed slightly in the second quarter of 2026, with preliminary data showing modest quarter-on-quarter growth driven mainly by domestic demand, according to the Czech National Bank and statistical estimates. Household consumption remained the key contributor to expansion, while investment and foreign trade provided mixed signals. The central bank noted that while overall growth remained broadly in line with its expectations, external risks, including weaker export conditions and ongoing global uncertainty, continued to cloud the outlook for the remainder of the year.
