Energo-Pro expands into South America with a major hydropower investment in Brazil
The Czech energy group Energo-Pro will purchase the Baixo Iguaçu hydropower plant in Brazil for over 250 million euros. With a capacity of 350 megawatts, it will become the group’s largest energy source and make Energo-Pro the biggest Czech investor in South America. The company signed a deal with Brazilian firm Copel and expects regulatory approval this summer. Energo-Pro currently operates over 50 hydropower plants in five countries and continues to expand in Latin America, including building a new plant in Colombia.
