Honeywell Aerospace in Czechia will help produce and service PTMS units for the F-35 fighter jets, as part of an industrial cooperation agreement for the Czech military's acquisition of 24 F-35 aircraft.
The Honeywell Aerospace plant in Hlubočky, near Olomouc, will participate in the production and servicing of the Power & Thermal Management System (PTMS) units for the F-35 fighter jets. This contract is part of an industrial cooperation agreement related to the acquisition of 24 F-35 aircraft for the Czech military.
In October, three other Czech entities signed agreements with the American manufacturer Lockheed Martin: the HiLASE research center of the Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Honeywell International (the parent company of Honeywell Aerospace Olomouc), and a consortium of the Czech Aerospace Research Centre and the Czech Technical University.
In mid-December, representatives from Lockheed Martin visited the Honeywell plant to officially launch the industrial cooperation agreement. This agreement underscores Honeywell's role as a key technological partner in the F-35 program and establishes the Hlubočky plant as an important part of the global supply chain for the F-35s.
The plant has a long history of technological innovation in the aerospace industry, dating back to 1951 when it began producing parts for Mi-15 jet engines and later for aircraft such as the L29 Delfín, L39 Albatros, and the L410 turboprop. In addition to the Hlubočky location, Honeywell operates a research and development center for advanced technologies and engineering in Brno.
