Czech Sev.en Global Investments Enters Texas Oil and Gas Market

Sev.en Global Investments’ acquisition of Texas oil and gas assets marks the Czech group’s first major step into the U.S. upstream energy sector.

Sev.en Global Investments has acquired a portfolio of oil and gas assets in Texas from Houston-based UpCurve Energy I and II. The assets produce approximately 13,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.

The deal marks Sev.en GI’s first upstream investment in the United States through its subsidiary Sev.en US Resources. In the energy sector, “upstream” refers to exploration and production activities, meaning the actual extraction of oil and gas.

According to Sev.en GI, the acquisition is intended to serve as a platform for building a strategic position in the U.S. upstream sector. The company plans to grow both organically and potentially through further acquisitions, suggesting that this deal may be the first step in a broader expansion strategy in the U.S. oil and gas market.

The transaction also strengthens Sev.en GI’s broader international energy portfolio, which already includes assets in the United States, Europe, and Australia across mining, power generation, coal, and steel-related sectors.
