Czech Senate President’s official visit to Vietnam in November 2025 strengthened the countries’ Strategic Partnership, promoting trade, investment, and industrial cooperation while highlighting Czech businesses’ role in Vietnam and the EU market.
President of the Czech Senate Miloš Vystrčil led a high-level delegation on an official visit to Vietnam from November 18-22, 2025, at the invitation of Vietnam National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man. The visit underscored both countries’ commitment to advancing cooperation under their newly established Strategic Partnership.
In Hanoi, Vystrčil held talks with senior Vietnamese leaders, including National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and Party General Secretary To Lam. The Party chief emphasized Vietnam’s appreciation of its long-standing ties with the Czech Republic and encouraged deeper collaboration in trade, investment, education, security, and people-to-people exchanges. He expressed support for Czech businesses seeking opportunities in Vietnam’s dynamic market.
Economic cooperation remained a central pillar of the visit. Business forums in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi gathered Vietnamese and Czech companies across multiple sectors to discuss collaboration. Vystrčil highlighted that the Czech Republic serves as a strategic gateway for Vietnamese firms looking to access the EU market, while the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic continues to act as an important bridge for economic partnership.
A key industrial highlight was the delegation’s visit to the new Škoda Auto - Thanh Cong Viet Hung automobile plant in Quang Ninh - Škoda’s first production site in Southeast Asia. With a designed capacity of 120,000 vehicles per year, the project represents a strong symbol of expanding Czech investment in Vietnam. Vystrčil test-drove a vehicle manufactured at the factory, praising the project as a model of modern, forward-looking cooperation.
The visit concluded with both sides endorsing an action plan to enhance trade, explore direct flights, strengthen legal frameworks, and expand cooperation in energy, technology, and sustainable development. Vystrčil affirmed that the two nations are ready to unlock significant economic potential and strengthen cooperation between Central Europe and Asia.
