Vietnam and the Czech Republic strengthen their Strategic Partnership, creating new opportunities in trade, investment, and skilled labor mobility.
On September 19, 2025, Vietnam’s Vice National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Thanh met Czech Senate President Milos Vystrcil and Deputy Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech parliament Jan Skopecek in Prague, celebrating 75 years of diplomatic ties and a new Strategic Partnership.
Leaders committed to leveraging the Vietnam-Czech Intergovernmental Committee to enhance cooperation in diplomacy, labor, education, and defense. Thanh thanked Czech leaders for supporting the Vietnamese community and called for more integration support and higher worker quotas. She noted Vietnam’s 45-day visa-free policy for Czech tourists and sought easier visa processes for Vietnamese travelers.
Skopecek pledged to expedite the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement ratification. Thanh proposed deeper parliamentary exchanges and welcomed planned Czech leadership visits.
During the
trip, the delegation also visited Cheb, where Mayor Jan Vrba welcomed them at
City Hall. He highlighted the strong ties between local residents and the
Vietnamese community, noting that Vietnamese people have become valued friends,
