Vietnam and the Czech Republic have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening parliamentary cooperation, highlighting the growing importance of legislative exchanges in supporting the two countries' Strategic Partnership established in January 2025. During a working session in Prague, Tomáš Helebrant, Chairman of the Czech Republic–Vietnam Interparliamentary Friendship Group, and Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Duong Hoai Nam discussed measures to deepen cooperation between the Czech Parliament and Vietnam's National Assembly.

Both sides noted that relations between the two legislatures have continued to develop through regular high-level visits and close coordination at international parliamentary forums. They agreed to promote more frequent delegation exchanges, share legislative experience, and strengthen cooperation on issues of mutual interest. Czech representatives also praised the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic for its positive contribution to local society and recognised its role in fostering bilateral relations.

The discussions also highlighted significant untapped potential for expanding cooperation beyond parliamentary affairs, particularly in trade and investment, education, science and technology, defence, and tourism. Ambassador Duong Hoai Nam proposed continued support for facilitating travel between the two countries, including the resumption of the bilateral skilled labour programme and simplified visa arrangements, which could further enhance business exchanges and people-to-people connectivity.
