The two nations plan to strengthen cooperation in advanced technologies to drive innovation and sustainability.
Vietnam and the Czech Republic are deepening their collaboration in science, technology, and innovation following a high-level meeting on March 28, 2025. Led by Le Quang Huy, Chairman of Vietnam’s National Assembly Committee for Science, Technology, and Environment, and Deputy Minister Bui Hoang Phuong, the Vietnamese delegation engaged with the Czech Ministry of Science, Research, and Innovation to explore bilateral opportunities.
Discussions centered on policies supporting research cooperation, the role of innovation in economic growth, and tackling global challenges such as climate change, energy security, and high-tech development. Vietnam expressed interest in the Czech Republic’s approaches to fostering innovation, particularly in technology transfer and commercialization to drive sustainable development.
The Czech Republic shared its strategies for strengthening connections between research institutions and businesses, allocating resources for R&D, and implementing an evaluation system that prioritizes real-world applications. The country highlighted its investments in applied research and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Both nations identified AI, semiconductors, quantum technology, and biotechnology as key areas for cooperation. Vietnam is eager to learn from the Czech Republic’s experience in creating policies that encourage business participation in research, open research platforms, and streamlined technology transfer mechanisms.
