Czech companies are having a successful economic year

More than 70% of small and medium-sized companies in Czechia expect better or at least the same economic results this year than they predicted at the beginning of the year amid fears of tariffs and global uncertainty.

According to the ČSOB (Czech commercial bank) Index survey, 30% of companies report improved economic performance and 42% report results comparable to last year. Companies perceive a recovery in the Czech economy, better access to credit, and the positive impact of a stronger Czech currency, with above-average optimism prevailing among larger companies, in the energy sector, and in real estate.

In contrast, the manufacturing industry remains pessimistic, with more than half of companies in this sector expecting a deterioration in results, mainly due to the weaker performance of the German economy and global industry. Company representatives confirm that the economic situation stabilized during the year and improved in the second half, thanks in part to lower interest rates and higher consumer spending. Nevertheless, companies point to persistent problems, particularly labor shortages and dissatisfaction with quotas on foreign workers.
