Held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), Enlit Africa is regarded as one of the continent’s leading platforms for the power, energy and water industries, bringing together utilities, investors, policymakers, technology providers and infrastructure leaders from across Africa and beyond. The 2026 edition focused strongly on investment, grid modernisation, renewable energy, digitalisation, water security and infrastructure development.

During the conference, CzechTrade South Africa engaged with industry stakeholders, utilities, project developers and technology companies to identify areas where Czech expertise and innovative solutions could contribute to South Africa’s ongoing energy transition and infrastructure modernisation. Particular attention was given to opportunities in renewable energy, nuclear energy, smart grids, water treatment technologies and energy efficiency solutions.

The event also highlighted growing interest in international partnerships capable of supporting Africa’s long-term energy security and sustainable development goals. Discussions at Enlit Africa emphasised the importance of investment-ready projects, transmission infrastructure upgrades and technological innovation across the continent.

For the Czech Republic, South Africa represents an important gateway to the broader African market and offers significant potential for cooperation in advanced engineering, clean technologies and industrial innovation. Czech companies have strong expertise in energy engineering, water management, nuclear technologies and industrial automation, making them valuable partners for South African institutions and businesses seeking reliable and efficient solutions.
