The main themes of the conference included Czech investments abroad, the potential of the European market, and startups
The Future of Export Summit 2024, organized by CzechTrade, brought together over 460 representatives from Czech export-oriented companies, focusing on key themes like Czech investments abroad, the potential of the European market, and startup innovations. The event was opened by CzechTrade’s General Director, Radomil Doležal, who emphasized the need for Czech companies to explore new markets in response to global geopolitical challenges. Minister of Industry and Trade, Lukáš Vlček, highlighted the strategic role of Czech exports and stressed the importance of supporting export initiatives.
The summit included presentations and discussions from prominent figures, such as Czech National Bank Vice-Governor Eva Zamrazilová, who spoke on reinvestment strategies for a stronger Czech economy. David Müller from the Ministry of Industry and Trade reviewed the Czech Republic's achievements and challenges after 20 years in the EU. Additionally, Katerina Syslová from Tensor Ventures discussed the global success and unique attributes of Czech startups, identifying key factors that set them apart from international competitors.
A notable feature of the summit was the presentation of a unique export survey that revealed insights from 180 respondents. The survey highlighted that 75% of Czech companies export directly to EU markets, with 47% collaborating with distributors and 24% investing in overseas representations, particularly in Slovakia, Poland, Germany, and the USA. Many companies stressed the importance of brand building and competitive factors like product uniqueness, customer service, and team quality. Artificial intelligence tools were used by 40% of respondents, mainly for translations and marketing personalization.
The summit’s interactive segment included four discussion blocks on relevant topics, where participants could choose sessions based on their interests. The blocks addressed digital transformation in international trade, overcoming trade barriers like protectionism and subsidies, strategies for a strong first impression in foreign markets, and emerging opportunities in ASEAN countries. Each session offered valuable insights on tackling export challenges and seizing global opportunities for Czech businesses.
