The Czech aerospace manufacturer is reinforcing its global standing through strategic partnerships, cutting-edge pilot training systems, and rising international demand for its L-39 Skyfox aircraft — now also selected for the NATO Flight Training Europe programme.
AERO
Vodochody has recently achieved several major international milestones. During
the IDET defence and security technology fair in Brno, the company signed two
key agreements — an industrial cooperation deal with Lockheed Martin and a
letter of intent with LOM PRAHA focused on advanced pilot training.
The
partnership with Lockheed Martin and Collins Aerospace involves the development
of a next-generation Multi Sensor Reconnaissance Pod made from advanced
composite materials, as part of the Czech F-35 acquisition programme. The
project will leverage AERO’s expertise in aerospace manufacturing and composite
structures, underlining its readiness to participate in global defence
programmes.
A major
highlight is also the development of the L-39 Skyfox training system with
Live-Virtual-Constructive (LVC) capabilities. This modern approach combines
real flight with virtual environments and simulated adversaries, increasing
both the efficiency and realism of pilot training while significantly reducing
costs. This makes it ideal for preparing pilots to operate 4th and 5th
generation aircraft.
The L-39
Skyfox has attracted growing international interest. At the end of May, three
aircraft were officially delivered to the Hungarian Air Force, where they will
be used in the NATO Flight Training Europe programme.
With these
achievements, AERO Vodochody continues to reinforce its position as a key
European player in both pilot training and the development of cutting-edge
aerospace technologies.
