Last year, Tatra introduced the third generation of its key model range for the civilian sector, the Tatra Phoenix. Serial production began at the end of 2024. Tatra also offers highly customised vehicles for specific purposes. An example includes two Tatra Phoenix vehicles with 16×16 chassis configurations designed for crane attachments, prepared for the Australian dealer Offroad Trucks Australia.
The Czech automobile manufacturer Tatra Trucks sold
1,548 vehicles last year, increasing production volume by nearly 10%
year-on-year, the company announced in a press release.
“In 2024, the largest portion of sold vehicles, over
600 units, was allocated to the defence sector. More than 400 vehicles were
delivered to customers in civilian industries such as construction, mining,
agriculture, and others. Over 200 vehicles were supplied to fire and rescue
services. The largest increase compared to 2023 was seen in deliveries to
civilian customers,” said Tatra Trucks CEO Kristijan Fiket.
Last year was significant for the oldest Czech
automobile manufacturer, marked by the introduction of the third generation of
its key model range for the civilian sector, the Tatra Phoenix. Serial
production commenced at the end of 2024.
“Last year’s investments in expanding production capacities
will allow us to further increase vehicle production volumes from this year
onwards. Additional investments in buildings and machinery, amounting to
several hundred million CZK, are planned this year. These steps will create
conditions to meet the growing demand for Tatra vehicles, which has been rising
year by year, and will strengthen the position of the Kopřivnice-based
manufacturer in both domestic and global markets,” the company wrote.
The vehicles produced last year were shipped to various
countries across several continents. In addition to the domestic market, the
largest numbers of vehicles were delivered to the Netherlands, Australia,
India, Germany, Austria, and Slovakia.
“Tatra offers highly customised vehicles for specific
purposes. For example, two Tatra Phoenix vehicles prepared for the Australian
dealer Offroad Trucks Australia feature 16×16 chassis configurations and are
designed for crane attachments. For a customer in the Middle East, Tatra
manufactured a five-unit series of special Tatra Phoenix 14×10 chassis for
similar purposes,” explained Tatra Trucks.
The automobile manufacturer Tatra Trucks employs more
than 1,800 people, with an additional 500 working at its subsidiary, Tatra
Metalurgie, which focuses primarily on foundry and forging. The shareholders of
Tatra Trucks are the industrial and technology holding Czechoslovak Group and
the engineering group Promet Group.
