Taiwanese company TaMiCo Zatec will invest more than CZK 900 million in a new facility at the Triangle industrial zone near Žatec. The project is expected to create up to 100 jobs and strengthen Czechia’s role in the European semiconductor supply chain.
TaMiCo Zatec is preparing to build a facility focused on
cleaning and surface treatment of components used in semiconductor production.
The project is planned for the Triangle industrial zone in the Ústí Region,
where regional councillors have approved a reservation agreement for the site.
The investment is estimated at CZK 914 million. Construction
is expected to begin this year and be completed in 2027.
The project comes at a time of growing Taiwanese interest in
semiconductor-related investments in Czechia. Another Taiwanese company,
i-TRANS Global, is preparing a European logistics centre in the Ústí Region for
semiconductor chemicals. The company plans an initial investment of at least
EUR 20 million and expects to create around 60 jobs.
The logistics centre is intended to supply specialised
chemicals and gases mainly to TSMC’s large semiconductor plant in Dresden.
According to CzechInvest, this investment could encourage further suppliers to
establish operations in Czechia and support the wider semiconductor ecosystem
developing around Central Europe.
CzechInvest is currently in discussions with several
Taiwanese companies regarding semiconductor industry investments in Czechia.
The projects are at different stages of preparation and may further strengthen
the country’s position as a supplier base for advanced manufacturing and
semiconductor production in Europe.
