Bolt's initiative is based on a survey indicating that nearly half of Prague motorists use a car only one or two days a week.
Bolt offers shared cars in
Prague from Monday, June 3rd. Under the brand Bolt Drive, it offers a total of
400 Toyota and Audi cars. The service is part of the Bolt application, through
which taxis are ordered or scooters rented.
For Audi models A1, A3, and
Q2, and Toyota models Yaris, Corolla, and CH-R, customers have a choice between
combustion engines and hybrid propulsion. The rental price of the car is
calculated based on the duration of the trip and the distance traveled, and it
already includes fuel, insurance, and road tolls. The cheapest tariff starts at
one crown per minute of driving time plus three crowns per kilometer.
Several companies already
offer carsharing in Prague, with Car4way and Anytime being the largest. Bolt's
initiative is based on a survey indicating that nearly half of Prague motorists
use a car only one or two days a week. "People are accustomed to owning a
car even if they use it only a few days a year. The services integrated into
the Bolt app provide them with a full but much less costly alternative,"
said Václav Soukup, director of Bolt Drive services in the Czech market.
The Bolt Drive service is
also available in all three Baltic countries, Germany, and Poland, currently
comprising a total of 8,700 shared vehicles.
