Hungary
From October 7 to 9, 2026, Budapest's HUNGEXPO Exhibition and Congress Centre hosted the second edition of ENVIRONTEC powered by ÖKOINDUSTRIA, an international trade exhibition dedicated to environmental technologies, sustainability, water management and waste solutions.
This year's event welcomed 100 exhibitors from 12 countries and approximately 3,000 professional visitors, bringing together industry experts, technology developers, business representatives and policymakers. The Czech Republic held a particularly prominent position as the official Guest Country, with CzechTrade Hungary coordinating the Czech national exhibition and supporting Czech companies in exploring new business opportunities in the Hungarian market.

Together, these companies highlighted the diversity and technological capabilities of the Czech environmental sector, offering practical solutions with potential applications across Hungary and the wider Central European region.
Connecting Innovation, Sustainability and Business
Beyond the exhibition stands, ENVIRONTEC 2026 offered an extensive professional programme addressing some of the most pressing environmental challenges facing Europe.
Discussions focused on industrial emissions regulation, climate change, water security, sustainable water management, environmental remediation, brownfield redevelopment and the future of waste management.
The programme also included the Green Balkan Forum and pre-arranged B2B matchmaking meetings, providing valuable opportunities for companies to exchange expertise, establish new contacts and explore potential cross-border partnerships.
A Taste of Czech Hospitality Alongside Green Innovation
The Czech presence extended beyond environmental technologies. Thanks to the involvement of Czech partners Bidfood, Rodinný pivovar BERNARD and CrossCafe, visitors could also experience Czech hospitality through traditional specialities, beer, coffee and refreshments.
This combination of technological expertise and Czech hospitality helped create a welcoming atmosphere for professional discussions and networking throughout the three-day exhibition.
Strengthening Czech-Hungarian Cooperation for a Sustainable Future
The Czech Republic's role as Guest Country at ENVIRONTEC 2026 underlined the importance of Czech-Hungarian cooperation in the rapidly developing environmental technology sector.
By bringing together innovative Czech companies and Hungarian industry stakeholders, CzechTrade Hungary supported the exchange of expertise, the development of new business relationships and the exploration of future export opportunities.
The exhibition demonstrated that environmental challenges also create opportunities for international collaboration, technological innovation and sustainable business growth.
With new contacts established and promising discussions initiated, ENVIRONTEC 2026 provided a valuable foundation for further strengthening the presence of Czech environmental technologies in Hungary and across the region.
