Czech companies presented their products at the international SIRHA Budapest trade fair, one of the leading HoReCa and food industry events in Central and Eastern Europe. The Czech national stand, organised by CzechTrade, offered a platform for networking with potential partners from Hungary and the wider region.
From March 3-5, 2026, the trade fair took place at the HUNGEXPO Budapest Congress and Exhibition Center, bringing together professionals from the hospitality, gastronomy, bakery, confectionery and food retail sectors. The event has long been considered a key meeting point for industry professionals across CEE region.
According to the organisers, this year’s edition hosted approximately 420 exhibitors from 26 countries and welcomed more than 27 000visitors, confirming the growing importance of the event for the regional HoReCa and Food Industry.
Czech national stand attracted strong interest
At the Czech national stand (Hall A, Stand 304C), several Czech companies showcased their products for the gastronomy and food sector. Participating companies included:
During the three-day event, the companies held numerous meetings with potential distributors, restaurant and hotel operators, retail representatives and other industry partners interested in cooperation with Czech suppliers.
The fair provided Czech exhibitors with a valuable opportunity to present their products directly to the professional audience, gain insight into the Hungarian market and establish new business contacts across the region.
„The interest in Czech exhibitors at SIRHA Budapest once again shows that Hungary is a promising market for Czech food and gastronomy suppliers. We see strong potential for further cooperation, which is why we plan to follow up on the contacts established at the fair with a business mission later this year,” said Adam Havel, Director of CzechTrade Hungary.
Follow-up business mission planned for September
Building on not just the contacts established during the trade fair, CzechTrade is planning a follow-up business mission to Hungary in September 2026. The mission will aim to further support Czech companies interested in entering or expanding on the Hungarian market.
The programme is expected to include B2B meetings with Hungarian partners, meetings with distributors and representatives of the HoReCa sector, as well as visits to selected companies and industry stakeholders.
Opportunities for Czech food and gastronomy suppliers
Hungary represents an attractive market for Czech companies in the food, beverage and gastronomy sectors. The growing demand for high-quality products, innovative food concepts and modern equipment for hospitality businesses opens new opportunities for suppliers from abroad.
Participation in SIRHA Budapest therefore provides Czech companies with an effective platform to increase their visibility, explore market trends and build long-term business partnerships in the region.
