Czech Economy Shows Steady Growth and Moderate Inflation in September 2025

Key sectors supporting growth included trade, transport, accommodation, and food services, with industry and construction also making a positive contribution

The Czech economy continued its steady growth in September 2025, with year-on-year GDP growth of 2.6% and 0.5% growth compared to the previous quarter, according to the Czech Statistical Office (ČSÚ). Growth was mainly supported by higher household consumption and changes in inventories. Household spending increased by 3.4% year-on-year, and government expenditure rose by 2.2%. Changes in inventories contributed positively, totaling 36.7 billion CZK.

Consumer prices in September 2025 grew by 2.5% year-on-year, slightly down from 2.7% in the previous month. The main factor behind price changes was food, including eggs (+31%) and milk (+11%), while some items, such as sugar and potatoes, became cheaper. Housing-related costs, including rent and utilities, rose moderately, while electricity and natural gas prices decreased.

The data confirms that the Czech economy remains resilient, diverse, and stable, with steady domestic demand and controlled inflation.
