In December 2023, the
Spanish police solidified their commitment to modernizing their arsenal by
signing their third contract in the last two years to procure
Czech-manufactured submachine guns. The chosen weapon is the CZ Scorpion,
produced by Česká zbrojovka.
As reported by the Spanish web infodefensa, the police force is set to acquire a minimum of 1,250 units of the CZ Scorpion EVO3 A1, with the total cost amounting to 2.141 million euros. This marks an ongoing effort by the Spanish police, as since late 2021, they have already acquired around 2,000 Czech submachine guns. At the close of 2021, they secured 460 submachine guns at a value of 920,000 euros, and in August 2023, an additional 400 units were purchased, costing approximately 850,000 euros.
The Scorpion EVO is well-suited for intervention and elite units, boasting notable features such as ergonomic design, high accuracy across all shooting modes, and safety in various weather conditions. The weapon is equipped with a 30-shot cartridge and four integrated sliders for accessories like laser tags, lights, and optical instruments.
