Optokon, a Czech company specializing in optical network components, has secured a significant contract with the European Southern Observatory in Chile, showcasing Czech excellence in technology and innovation.

Optokon, a company based in Jihlava, Czech Republic, has recently made significant strides in the global market for optical network components. A recent project saw Optokon supplying crucial cabling and optical converters to the European Southern Observatory (ESO) in Chile, underscoring the company's expertise and Czech excellence in technology and innovation.

Founded in 1991, Optokon initially operated as a distributor for the Japanese company Seiko before transitioning into research and development. Despite initial skepticism, Optokon emerged as a global leader in the field, exporting its products to over fifty countries and establishing manufacturing facilities in Malaysia and Saudi Arabia.

This demonstrates Optokon's commitment to advancing optical technology and contributing to global security efforts.

Looking towards the future, Optokon aims to expand its presence further, with plans to open a new facility in Turkey and re-enter the US market. These endeavors not only contribute to the company's growth but also reinforce the Czech Republic's position as a hub for technological innovation and excellence.
