Czechs are currently paying on average 7 USD per month more for energy than in the same period last year.

Last year, according to the analysis, the average Czech paid CZK 6375 (277 USD) per month for energy in the third quarter. This year, in the same period, it was CZK 6,530 (284 USD). According to the analysis, average energy payments reached their peak in the first quarter of this year, when the average consumer paid CZK 7,088 (308 USD) per month. In the second quarter, the average energy payment was CZK 6,623 (288 USD).

Energy prices have risen at a record pace over the past year, in some places by hundreds of percent. The Czech government has therefore adopted price caps on electricity and gas for this year. At the beginning of this year, most domestic suppliers were offering energy to customers at prices just at the level of the government's price ceiling. Then, during the year, in response to the fall in commodity prices on the stock exchange, suppliers gradually started to make their supplies cheaper.
