Prague's allure as a prime destination for global brands is evident as American retail giants make a splash in the Czech market.

Retail brands find the Czech market, and Prague in particular, to be quite appealing, and it continues to be their primary entry point into the CEE area. The Czech capital is one of the most attractive settings for global fashion and other businesses, mainly because of its excellent tenant mix and profitable operations.

Two big US players shook the market last year - lingerie brand Victoria's Secret, which opened its first local store in Prague's Westfield Chodov shopping center in May, and the famous southern chicken fast food chain Popeyes, which welcomed its first customers in early November. Popeyes plans to have over a dozen restaurants in the Czech Republic within three years.

This year, fast food and fashion enthusiasts can look forward to two more new US brands opening their doors in Prague. The fashion sector can expect the arrival of Ralph Lauren on Parizska Street, while the food and beverage sector will be happy to welcome Five Guys, a burger and fries franchise, to Prague in the middle of 2024.
